Between the Lines
This project is an exploration of evening wear through the lens of gender expression, blending traditional and modern pattern-making techniques to reimagine formalwear across the spectrum. The structured blazer, with a cinched waist and exaggerated hips, offers a feminine take on the classic masculine silhouette, preserving its commanding presence while softening its lines. It was patterned entirely in CLO3D. In contrast, the fitted gown, with its modest neckline and dramatic lace-up back, was developed through dress form draping, highlighting the intimacy and craft of physical construction.

Through the Dynasties
Throughout the Dynasties is a contemporary fashion collection that reimagines the traditional Chinese hanfu through the lens of modern streetwear and suiting. Blending historical silhouettes with sharp tailoring and utilitarian elements, the collection explores themes of heritage, identity, and transformation. Each piece is a dialogue between past and present, honoring centuries of Chinese craftsmanship while asserting a bold, forward-looking aesthetic. Posthumanism Avante Garde
This look, featuring a dramatic blazer and distressed gown, draws inspiration from the imagined attire of extraterrestrial beings on Mars. Reflecting the planet's uneven, cratered terrain, both the blazer and gown are crafted using spherical, organic fabric manipulations. The blazer's sleeves were tied with marbles and then boiled to form a lumpy, textured surface, while the gown is stuffed and secured with fabric scraps, giving its surface a bubbling, otherworldly appearance.

Thesis Exploration: Through the Dynasties
In my initial thesis exploration, I drew inspiration from traditional Chinese garments and fused those elements with contemporary streetwear. This look takes cues from the flowing, layered structure of traditional Chinese attire—especially the Hanfu—and reinterprets it through a modern lens. A wrap skirt is seamlessly integrated with wide-legged trousers, forming a distinctive silhouette, while a reimagined dress shirt nods to the asymmetrical closures typical of Chinese garments, blended with present-day tailoring. The result is a bold and versatile fusion of regal tradition and urban edge, honoring cultural heritage while pushing it into a contemporary context.

Birth Avante Garde Gown
As part of the project The Human Condition, the "Birth" gown explores the universally shared experience which catalyzes the human condition. Featuring a transformable hood that unzips into a tail, the gown symbolizes birth and rebirth. The double puff skirt, vibrant warm colors, and draped bodice reflect the complexity and beauty of new beginnings.
